- years. I recently installed a USR 28.8 and all hell broke loose.
- For starters. I had to reconfigure the modem to run on com3 irq 5 in
- order to access Prodigy. I then had to change all of my other com
- programs to see com3. That was no problem. Now after downloading and
- upgrading Winfax Pro 3.0 I still cannot send a fax. All I get is the
- attempt of the modems to talk and an immediate High pitche sqeal followed
- by a "no carrier" I have followed Delrina's solution to a T with no
- success. I have used the recommended init string from USR support with
- no success. What really pisses me off is that it is almost impossible
- to talk to a real support person to resolve this problem. I have sent
- several e-mails to each Vendor with not even a reply. Bring back the good
- ol days when you had to talk to a support person to resolve problems.
